Answered prayers! Don’t you just love it when that happens? Over the past couple of years, we have been looking, thinking and praying for an opportunity to provide children a “camp like” experience during the summer. We were specifically looking for a one-day visit to see Camp Sumatanga and participate in activities similar to those provided at the week long camps.   We decided it was time to contact the staff at Camp Sumatanga to see if they would work with us on this. Turns out that God was way ahead of us (as usual!) The Children’s One-day Mission Event was exactly what we were searching for.     With canned goods in hand, 8 children and 3 chaperones headed out for this trip. We participated in mission study where we learned that we United Methodist reach all over the world. With a short hike (fun!), we had lunch at the pavilion on the lake, and played on the playground. There was plenty of activities, games, music and crafts that kept us focused on mission while having fun for a day.
